Community Energy Chair Mari Arthur Joins FleetEV & PLUG Charging Board to Support Wales’ EV Transition

FleetEV & PLUG Charging, Wales’ leading provider of EV fleet solutions, salary sacrifice schemes and EV charging infrastructure, today announced the appointment of Mari Arthur to its Advisory Board.

Founded in Neath and Headquartered in Cardiff, FleetEV supports organisations across Wales in transitioning to zero-emission transport and currently supplies electric vehicles - from small cars to large HGVs - to 21 of the 22 Welsh local authorities.

Mari brings more than two decades of experience in sustainable development strategy, community energy, stakeholder engagement and Welsh public policy - making her a natural fit for a company whose mission is to accelerate the transition to cleaner, smarter transport across Wales and the UK.

A committed electric vehicle driver who regularly travels across west and north Wales for work with organisations across the public, private and third sectors, Mari has first-hand experience of the opportunities electric mobility presents, as well as the infrastructure challenges that remain - particularly in rural and semi-rural communities. Her practical insights into real-world EV adoption will support FleetEV & PLUG Charging as the company continues to expand its services throughout Wales and beyond.

Mari currently chairs Ynni Sir Gâr and has also chaired Ynni Teg, two community energy cooperatives operating in west Wales. Through these roles she has developed deep expertise in decentralised, community-owned clean energy models and the infrastructure needed to support them. This perspective complements the work of PLUG Charging, the company’s infrastructure division, which delivers innovative EV charging solutions - including lamp column charging - for public sector and community clients across Wales.

Her professional background includes five years as Director of Cynnal Cymru, Wales’ national sustainable development charity, and a partner at Afallen.Cymru, as well as a number of governance roles including Chair of Dŵr Cymru’s Independent Environmental Advisory Panel and Non-Executive Director of Warm Wales CIC.
